Talk:YWAM Websites List
Opening the debate afresh
This page is very popular and needs tons of updates. Today I have done a whole bunch. Although all links need to be tested. I found out that the website of Swaziland is not working properly. I am going to call them about it, which I had to do anyway for AfriCom.
It would be great to have pages for bases. Today I had a chat with Peter Clemison about the history of YWAM in Africa. A lot of it is getting lost. That is why I think it is a mission for the KB to collect these stories. With the help of AfriCom it will be possible to start doing interviews. How key is that? Exciting! Main Page 176,253 Charismatic vs Transformational 16,783 YWAM Websites List 12,754 This page is the top 3rd page viewed on the KB. I think we need to see if opening this page to allow a crowd surfing approach to build the list of ywam bases and websites might not allow us to have better synergy with the official list. I would like us to talk some more about this. I can see this as being mutually beneficial - we will plaster the page with directions to the official survey site for example!
Can we debate this some more?
Again I say this should NOT be a place for every base / school web site. Why?
- It will become unmanageable
- It will become a list of dead links that don't work
- There are other places / sites that go to a lot of work to keep this info up-to-date.
So let's not Duplicate. Colin Forbes
- 100% agree with you. Was thinking we need to tidy this page up a bit. Some of the links are dying too... Will run the Bot on it I think... --Kev-The-Hasty 14:06, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Yippee, good to have this back. I don't think there is any harm in putting any and every web site on here. The ywam.org is the ultimate and official site, but I'm not sure that there is any harm in having a similar list in several places? What do you think? steve-the-not-so-hasty 09:24, 20 March 2008 (CET)
This should NOT be a list of every base web page. It should be a list of key web sites and resources. Please help keep this list clean and don't let it become a place to put everyone's base or school web site. There are other places for that like ywam.org. - Colin
I think we might need to put a little structure in here. Can you think of something Colin? --Kev-The-Hasty 21:56, 8 July 2007 (BST)
Sure here are some divisions - International Sites & Ministries, Field, Region, National Portals - but again - please don't let this get down to the base level as it will be a nightmare to administrate and that is what we are doing with ywam.org. Colin 10:18, 6 August 2007 (BST)
How about topic focus or country/region focus with sub-topics instead of a repeat of the GO Manual mix? - Belinda (YWAM Holland)
This site has been visited a lot, but it looks terrible (to be honest). What about some refreshing here. One of the things that bothers me is that I can't really get a good overview. Maybe it is possible to show a bit of the page. Like a snapshot. Also I think the content must come before the weblink. This is what I have in mind.

Okay, it is quite some work. But it is always one step at a time. I might try out something soon. Arnoud van Dillewijn 17:03, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- Please do - it has just grown as a list and not become tidier. But it is the ONLY list I know of even if it is incomplete and messy!--Kev-The-Hasty 21:43, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
I've removed International from YWAM International as we have been advised not to use that term as no such entity exists and if it does it could be come a legal target. So I've changed it to "The YWAM website" for lack of a better name. We are working on some updates to ywam.org to include other links like skype etc - it would be good if we could work together to generate some links dynamically on this page. --Colin Forbes
Kev-The-Hasty I wanted to say sorry that I never responded to any of your comments here it seems I wasn't getting the notifications other wise I would have given more feedback.
Todays changes: Under Comms Teams - AfriCom does not existing any more. The SpiceCom link is dead. And the LatinCom site or page seems to be infected with a bitcoin miner virus - so I've blocked the link for now.
