The School of Biblical Christian Worldview (SBCW) is all about worldviews, specifically relating to the worldview of Christians, based on the Bible. It is a UofN Course (HMT/SCI 213) and is part of the core module Applied Christian Thinking.

The main goal of this course is to let God renew our minds (Ro 12:1-2). Our own cultures imply many basic assumptions (that we may or may not be aware of) which need to be redeemed by the message of the Cross. By learning and living together, we discover God's truth expressed in different cultures.

Inspired by their stay in L'Abri, YWAMers from Wiler (Switzerland) started the first SBCW in 1988. In 2003, Frank Bauer brought it to Hurlach (Germany). Currently, new locations are pioneered, but it currently mainly takes place within Europe.

  • The topics are not perdetermined and thus depend on each individual school. (See Example curriculum)
  • Typically, they include:
    • Biblical foundation for worldview
    • History and culture of Europe/the context the location is in.
    • Economy
    • Art and media
    • History of ideas
  • Also, like every course that is part of the Applied Christian Thinking, there have to be 4 lecture weeks of science.

Here you can share notes or lecture material.

Not every SBCW has an outreach. However, it usually includes field trips to museum, historic sites, in order to make worldview more "palpable".
