Nearly five years ago my family moved to Asia to do missions work. Before leaving our home country I made one of the better decisions I’ve ever made. I started a blog.

It can be incredibly daunting to try and communicate with all your friends, family and supporters all over the world, but blogging make this so much easier. You can easily get those interested in your work to sign-up on your blog to receive your updates as soon as you write them. Add stories and pictures and people will love coming to your blog and seeing all that is going on in your life.

I realized the power of blogging in missions when my family went home for the first time since arriving in Asia. One of my relatives that I hadn’t talked with in a long time knew about our lives and was even sharing our stories with her children. What a great way to expose the next generation to missions! Blogging also helped connect our family with another YWAM family moving to our city and became a way for us to support them in their move and to begin to plant the seeds of community and friendship.

It’s also an incredible way to journal about your life experiences so that you don’t forget them.

One of the easiest blog platforms is and they are very helpful in aiding you in getting your blog started.
